Journey & Inspiration
How My Writing Journey Began
My writing journey began long before I considered myself an author. It started with observation—of people, situations, successes, failures, and the quiet moments in between. Growing up, I was deeply influenced by my grandfather, Late Mr. R. Agor, a respected author in the field of Civil Engineering. Watching him write with discipline, clarity, and purpose left a lasting impression on me. Books were not just objects in our home; they were tools for thinking and understanding the world.
As my professional life unfolded in the construction and infrastructure industry, I found myself working in demanding environments—project sites, leadership roles, pressure situations, and constant decision-making. Over time, I began reflecting on these experiences and on the journeys of people around me. Writing became a way to process these reflections, capture learning, and make sense of human behaviour at work and in life.
What started as personal notes gradually evolved into structured ideas, and eventually into books.
What Inspired Me to Write These Books
Both The Rise Within and The Soft Trap are born from a common inspiration: people and potential.
Throughout my career, I have worked closely with engineers, managers, and professionals who were capable, intelligent, and hardworking—yet often stuck. Not because of lack of opportunity, but because of comfort, fear, self-doubt, or unclear direction. I saw how easily comfort can disguise itself as safety, slowly limiting growth. I also saw how inner clarity, discipline, and responsibility can completely transform a person’s trajectory.
The Soft Trap explores how comfort quietly holds us back, even when everything appears stable on the surface.
The Rise Within focuses on what happens when we choose to step forward—building leadership, resilience, and identity through conscious action.
Together, these books reflect two sides of the same journey: recognizing what holds us back and discovering the strength that moves us forward.
My grandfather’s legacy of knowledge-sharing and my passion for working with people and helping them grow have been the guiding forces behind both books.
